Muhammad Ali Khan, MD, MCPS, DTCDDr. Khan has been a faculty member at National University since April 2006. As a tenured professor, he currently teaches pathology and clinical sciences.

Dr. Khan was fortunate enough to be part of an educated and well-placed physician’s family. In 1978, he graduated with a degree in medicine and surgery from one of the best medical schools in his native Pakistan, the Dow Medical College in Karachi (now Dow University of Health Sciences).

After his residency in medicine and surgery, he completed training at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Institute and received a Postgraduate Diploma in Pulmonary Diseases and Tuberculosis from the University of Karachi. In 1983, he earned membership in the College of Physicians and Surgeons in chest medicine. Dr. Khan has served as a pulmonologist in various university hospitals in Karachi and the Middle East and has taught graduate and postgraduate medical students for the last 25 years. Dr. Khan relocated to the United States in 2002 where he completed his master certification in medical terminology. He is a member of the American Association of Anatomists.

Dr. Khan has been an adjunct professor at H. Truman College, College of DuPage, and National Naprapathic College in Chicago. At National University, students have voted him “Teacher of the Tri” 10 times in the last 10 years based on his teaching style and clinical experience.

During his college years, Dr. Khan was very active in sports such as cricket, field hockey, and tennis. He has two sons, one daughter, and five lovely grandchildren.

Dr. Khan believes that his strength lies in his experience, and that no school can be better than its teachers. He works to build relationships with his students, and to drive them to their highest potential.
